The core business of Casidra is to plan, facilitate and implement integrated rural development projects in impoverished rural communities of the Western Cape Province. Lasting improvements in the lives of the people in those communities in which Casidra works is the essential goal of the organisation.
Casidra’s approach to rural development is holistic and multi-sectoral, focussing on improving the social and economic well-being of rural people. The type of community development projects implemented varies, and is aimed at alleviating poverty, stimulating broad-based economic growth and unlocking the human resources and capacity in rural communities.
Casidra renders a project management service within the various departments of the PGWC, local authorities, businesses, non-governmental organisations (NGO’s), community-based organisations (CBO’s), academic institutions, other government agencies and international assistance institutions.
The principal purpose of Casidra is to provide services to improve the quality of life of rural communities by facilitating integrated rural development with measurable impact on economic growth and poverty reduction.
Casidra implements a diverse range of integrated rural development projects on behalf of government departments (national and provincial including local municipalities).
