The works/goods, as described, is part of the Department of Agriculture land reform programme for the Metropole, farm Valota, situated in Phillipi Ottery road.


The quoted amount will be a lump sum bid and must include delivery to the farm and labour costs for installation. The successful bidder must have the capacity to start the works within 7 (seven) days of appointment and complete the work before 05 May 2017.


The contractor must also have suitable experience in irrigation systems and supply contactable references. Conditions that may pose a risk: The farm is situated next to and in a wetland, waterlogging can be expected when raining and the contractor must put all necessary precautions in place to work under these conditions.


The scope of works will include:

1. The supply, delivery and installation of irrigation pumps as per scope of works and drawing supplied. 

2. Supply, delivery and installation of electrical works as per scope of works.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bidder clearly marked “SUPPLY, DELIVERY and INSTALLATION OF AN IRRGATION SYSTEM – BID NO. 116/2016” and placed in the bid box available at Reception of Casidra’s Head Office, 22 Louws Avenue, Southern Paarl.  No faxed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted. 

All bids above R30 000 will be subjected to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and regulations, whereby B-BBEE certified service providers will receive a preferential score.
