Casidra Celebrates Movember: Honouring Men and Their Health
On 28 November, Casidra came together to celebrate Movember with warmth, unity, and genuine appreciation. This occasion was more than moustaches or tradition, it was about recognising the men who show up every day, often carrying silent burdens.
In a heartfelt gesture, the ladies of Casidra drew names and presented gifts to their male colleagues, symbolising gratitude, recognition, and support. Small moments, big impact.
Cleve Cupido, the event organiser, shared, “Movember is more than a celebration. It’s a reminder that men’s health matters, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. Around the world, men face unique health challenges: higher suicide rates, lower likelihood of seeking medical help, increased risks for chronic illnesses, and a societal expectation to ‘be strong,’ even when struggling. These pressures often silence men at the exact moment they need support most.”
Michael Mackenzie, Programme Manager: Food Security, added powerfully, “The truth is men struggle. Men feel overwhelmed too. Men feel stressed, depressed, anxious, lost, or alone. Men carry burdens that nobody sees because society says: ‘men don’t cry,’ ‘man up.’ Recognising that you need support is one of the bravest things a person can do. Men’s health is not a gender issue; it’s a human issue, and it’s time to make it safe for men to talk about it.”
His words echo a truth we can no longer ignore: men deserve safe spaces to speak, to ask for help, and to be human.
Movember at Casidra wasn’t just a one-day event, it was a step toward building a healthier workplace culture, one that encourages conversations, breaks stereotypes, and supports every employee equally. When we look out for the men in our lives, our colleagues, fathers, brothers, and friends, we help build stronger families and stronger communities.
Let’s keep showing appreciation and creating spaces where men are seen, heard, and supported.
