Casidra’s Environmental Team has once again delivered exceptional results with the successful rehabilitation of an earth dam embankment at Laasterivier Farm in Montagu.
The upgraded dam, with a capacity of approximately 5,000m³, now features a reinforced embankment standing about 5 metres high, stretching 114 metres in length, and a crest width of roughly 3.5 metres, significantly improving both its stability and functionality.
The scope of work included dewatering the dam to enable safe access for rehabilitation, clearing vegetation within the work area, removing unsuitable silt and compromised material, and stabilising the upstream slope with protective measures. The project also saw the installation of a new water pump, further enhancing the dam’s operational efficiency.
This milestone reflects Casidra’s ongoing commitment to sustainable infrastructure development and environmental stewardship in support of the agricultural sector.
