Management Visits Amalienstein and Waaikraal Farms
Zoar & Dysselsdorp | March 19–20, 2025 — In a show of leadership, appreciation, and ongoing commitment to agricultural development, Casidra’s management team conducted a two-day oversight visit to the Amalienstein Dairy Farm in Zoar and the Waaikraal Lucerne Farm in Dysselsdorp.
During his address to recognise the farmworkers, Dr. Keith Du Plessis says, “This visit is not only an operational check-in, but a heartfelt gesture to engage with the farmworkers as you form the backbone of these successful farming projects”.
“We are here to check on your well-being and to recognise and acknowledge your commitment to Casidra to show our appreciation for your hard work and dedication as we value so much”, the the CEO alluded.
This moment served as a reminder of Casidra’s people-first approach—recognising that the success of any farming initiative lies in the strength, health, and morale of those working the land.
As a token of appreciation, the Management team issued all farmworkers with the working clothes. This initiative underscores Casidra’s unwavering commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence. The updated gear ensures that workers are well-equipped to perform their duties efficiently and securely, reinforcing the message that their health and safety come first.
The PPE handover is part of Casidra’s broader vision to promote safe, dignified working conditions across all its agricultural sites. With farms like Amalienstein and Waaikraal playing critical roles in the region’s food production and economic activity, the safety of the workforce is a non-negotiable priority.
Beyond equipment and oversight, the visit served as a reminder of Casidra’s long-term commitment to sustainable development and agricultural resilience. Both farms are pivotal in their respective sectors—Amalienstein as a model dairy operation and Waaikraal as a key producer of lucerne, an essential livestock feed.
Casidra’s visit reaffirmed its dedication to fostering a culture of care, accountability, and productivity. Through regular engagement, support, and investment, the agency continues to empower the people who keep South Africa’s agricultural engine running.
As the oversight visit wrapped up, it left behind more than just new gear—it left a renewed sense of purpose and recognition. Casidra’s approach is clear: when you invest in people, you cultivate more than crops—you grow communities, industries, and futures.
