Youth Month Spotlight: Meet Mpho Gift Malatji

We are pleased to introduce Mpho Gift Malatji, who has joined Casidra as a Project Implementer within the Environmental Sustainability Programme from 01 June 2026.

Mpho holds a BEngTech Hons in Civil Engineering from Cape Peninsula University of Technology and brings a strong interest in infrastructure development, project implementation, and sustainable construction. His academic journey was driven by a passion for understanding how infrastructure can improve people’s lives and strengthen communities through practical and long-term solutions.

He is particularly motivated by projects that create long-term impact, especially flood-related infrastructure that improves community safety and supports agricultural resilience. Mpho was also drawn to Casidra’s role in promoting sustainable agricultural and economic development in the Western Cape.

This appointment marks an important step in his career, moving from a Civil Engineering graduate to a practitioner working on

infrastructure projects. It also provides an opportunity to build his technical and project management skills, and work towards ECSA professional registration.
