Casidra Hosts Stakeholder Engagement and Networking Breakfast to Drive Inclusive Agricultural Growth
By Tina Dayimani
Casidra in collaboration with Old Mutual hosted a Stakeholder Engagement and Networking Breakfast, bringing together over 30 influential partners from both the public and private sectors. The event served as a strategic platform to foster collaboration, unlock funding opportunities, and align efforts towards a more inclusive and resilient agricultural economy in the Western Cape.
The event provided valuable space for dialogue, connection, and shared learning—focusing on sustainable agricultural development and inclusive growth across the province’s rural communities.
During the event, Casidra CEO Dr Keith du Plessis shared insights into the organisation’s business model, value proposition, and strategic direction. He highlighted the critical importance of cross-sector collaboration in strengthening the agricultural value chain.
Dr du Plessis had an opportunity to thank everyone who joined us in building meaningful connections that will drive impact in the year ahead. “We will continue to host engagements like this to unlock funding opportunities and support the growth of our projects across the region”, he said.
The event was proudly sponsored by Old Mutual, with Regional Manager Abdul Hassim delivering a compelling message on the importance of collaboration and purpose-driven investment and said; “Today’s event is about building partnerships for growth and alleviating poverty within our communities,”. He alludes that, “We must facilitate stronger connections between public and private partners and identify synergies that boost agri-development. In South Africa, agriculture feeds not only our families, but also our dreams of an inclusive, thriving economy.”
This successful engagement marks another milestone in Casidra’s ongoing commitment to driving inclusive economic development, supporting emerging farmers, and transforming rural areas into vibrant agricultural hubs.
Casidra remains dedicated to empowering people and partnerships—because rural development starts with connection, collaboration, and shared purpose.
